Dear Daily Disaster Diary, Mar.03 2025

How far must suffering and misery go before we see that even in the day of vast cities and powerful machines, the good earth is our mother and that if we destroy her, we destroy ourselves?

ct 2025 Exposed: ‘Guts' environmental protections for corporate greed

GOPocalypse: How the Republican Party Declared War on the Planet

The Republican Party, led by President Donald Trump, has stormed back into power like a rampaging Godzilla, tearing apart every environmental safeguard, crushing decades of progress, and ensuring that future generations will inherit a planet on fire.

In just a few short weeks, they have systematically dismantled the government’s ability to fight climate change, upending environmental policy with reckless abandon and outright contempt for science, law, and human survival.

This isn’t just a shift in policy—it’s a declaration of war against the very air we breathe and the water we drink.

It’s an act of political and environmental terrorism, sacrificing the future of humanity for a few extra dollars lining the pockets of fossil fuel executives and corporate overlords.

And the worst part? They don’t care.

They laugh in the face of the climate catastrophe while stuffing their wallets with dirty money, drunk on power and insulated from the coming collapse by their gated communities and private jets.

The Great Climate Purge

Trump wasted no time gutting federal climate efforts, erasing regulations meant to curb pollution, and handing the fossil fuel industry the keys to America’s energy policy.

He pulled the United States out of the Paris climate agreement on day one, making us the only nation on Earth to formally abandon global climate commitments. This isn’t just irresponsible—it’s suicidal.

Federal grants for clean energy? Frozen.

Wind farms? Stopped in their tracks.

Scientific research? Defunded.

The EPA? Slashed to pieces.

Thousands of climate scientists, policy makers, and regulators fired in one of the most brutal purges in government history.

This administration is actively sabotaging our ability to combat climate change while aggressively expanding oil and gas drilling.

This isn’t politics as usual—this is mass environmental homicide.

Burn, Baby, Burn

Trump and his enablers in Congress are doing everything in their power to accelerate climate disaster. The administration has declared an “energy emergency,” which, in reality, is nothing more than an excuse to fast-track oil and gas extraction at the expense of public health and planetary survival.

In his own words: “We’re going to drill, baby, drill and do all of the things that we wanted to.”

Translation: screw the planet, screw the future, let’s get rich.

Fossil fuel companies poured $75 million into Trump’s re-election campaign, and they’re getting their money’s worth.

Environmental protections are being shredded at a record pace.

The Clean Air Act? On the chopping block.

Regulations on methane emissions? Gone.

Fuel economy standards? Dismantled.

Federal support for electric vehicles? Vanished.

The administration is even plotting to revoke California’s right to set its own emissions standards—a move so radical and unprecedented that even some Republicans are raising eyebrows.

But that’s the GOP’s new playbook:

if a law gets in their way, they’ll rewrite it.

If a regulation hinders corporate profits, they’ll erase it.

If science contradicts their propaganda, they’ll censor it.

A Future Engulfed in Fire and Floods

The planet is screaming.

Hurricanes are growing deadlier.

Wildfires are devouring entire towns.

Record-breaking heatwaves are killing people in their homes.

Water shortages are already turning into crises, and climate refugees are on the move.

Every single one of these disasters is fueled by human-caused climate change, and the GOP’s response is to pour gasoline on the fire.

Trump and his enablers are not just ignoring climate change—they are actively making it worse.

They are ensuring that our children and grandchildren will suffer through a world that is hotter, more violent, and more inhospitable than ever before.

And when that happens, when the skies are choked with smoke and the coasts are swallowed by rising seas, will the billionaires and politicians who made it happen be held accountable? No.

They will retreat to their bunkers, safe from the chaos they unleashed, while the rest of us are left to fight for survival.

Taxation Without Representation: Blue States Must Revolt

Let’s be clear: blue states pay the bills in this country. We fund the government, we drive the economy, and we lead in technological innovation.

Yet under Trump’s America, our tax dollars are being stolen to fund the destruction of everything we value—our air, our water, our national parks, our public health.

This is taxation without representation, and it’s time we fought back.

If Trump and the GOP want to burn the planet to the ground, then blue states should stop paying for their madness.

Why should we bankroll a government that is hellbent on poisoning us?

If the federal government refuses to protect us from climate disaster, then we must take matters into our own hands.

We must fight for state-level climate action, block federal rollbacks wherever possible, and resist in every way we can.

The Death Cult of the GOP

It is clear now that the modern Republican Party is not just indifferent to climate change—it is a death cult.

They worship at the altar of corporate greed, sacrificing the future of the planet for short-term profit.

They mock climate science, sneer at environmentalists, and celebrate policies that will kill their own children and grandchildren.

This is not conservatism.

This is nihilism.

This is a suicide pact masquerading as governance.

We have fought and won environmental battles before.

We banned CFCs and saved the ozone layer.

We tackled acid rain.

We cleaned up rivers so polluted they literally caught on fire.

We removed lead from gasoline and saved countless lives.

But these victories happened because people demanded change. Because they refused to accept corporate destruction as inevitable. Because they stood up and fought back.

The Time to Fight is Now

If we want a livable future, we must fight like hell.

Join climate action groups.

Pressure your representatives.

Support state and local climate policies.

Cut off funding to those who destroy our environment.

Refuse to let the GOP get away with this environmental genocide.

Because if we don’t act now, if we let them win, if we let them pillage and burn and destroy unchecked—then we are complicit in our own demise.

This is not a drill. This is a war. And we must win.

Sincerely,

Adaptation-Guide
